Projects

These are some of the projects both professional and open source that I have worked on during the last few years.

I’m currently partially available for freelance contracts, if you think I might be able to help, please get in touch.

CERN PrintMgr

August 2002 to September 2003, developer in Unix Support.

Project I created while at CERN in 2002-2003. Involved the development of a system used to manage 1300 network printers from a 3-server Linux cluster. Written in Perl and uses LPRng alongside CERN’s Oracle Database servers. Since November 2006 the service is no longer in use as the service has been migrated to Windows servers.

Open Source: BComposer

From 2007, development.

Application for the easy creation of email bulletins, written in Ruby on Rails. Still in use today in several projects.

Open Source: Translate Columns Plugin

February 2007 to present day, creation and development

Ruby on Rails plugin to help with the manipulation of internationalisation in ActiveRecord models. Provides a way to handle translations of user provided data very easily.
